Terms of Use

These Terms are an agreement between you and NSI Hub LLC (“we”, “us”) covering the Hangman Challenge mobile app and the web player at hangmanchallenge.com (together, the “Service”). By playing you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Who can play

Anyone can open a challenge link and play as a guest. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account, set a nickname that others see, play the Daily Challenge, or buy a subscription or a skin. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to these Terms for you. By creating an account you confirm you meet these requirements.

2. Your account

Accounts use a sign-in link sent to your email, or Sign in with Apple or Google; a password sign-in exists only for support and app-review accounts. Keep your email account secure; anything done through your sign-in is your responsibility. One person, one account. You can delete your account at any time in Settings or via our delete account page.

3. Words, hints and other content you create

You can set words and hints, build word lists, pick nicknames and send reactions (“Your Content”). You own Your Content. You give us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, display, moderate, adapt (for example generating a word card) and share it with the players you send it to, and on share cards and scoreboards, for as long as the Service exists. You promise Your Content:

• does not contain slurs, hate, harassment, threats, sexual content or content aimed at humiliating a specific person;
• does not include anyone’s private information (real names combined with addresses, phone numbers and the like);
• does not infringe anyone’s rights or break any law;
• is not spam, advertising or an attempt to move players off the Service.

Content goes through automated moderation before other players see it, and every scoreboard has a Report button. We may remove content, hide it, or suspend accounts that break these rules, without notice. Reports are reviewed by a person. Repeated abuse ends the account.

4. Fair play

Every challenge is one attempt per player. Do not use bots, automation, modified clients, multiple accounts or any other method to gain an unfair advantage, to spam invites, or to interfere with rooms. Live rooms are for people you know. Be kind: you can block anyone, and blocked players cannot reach you.

5. Subscriptions (Pro and Premium) and skin purchases

• What you get. Pro removes daily and monthly play limits. Premium adds animated theme packs, the Word Theatre theme, unlimited AI word lists, early-access categories and every paid hangman skin for as long as the subscription is active. Features are described in the app and may evolve; we will not remove a core benefit mid-term without giving you a refund path through the store.
• Skins. Some hangman skins can be bought outright as a one-time purchase: a single skin, or a pack of three picks that you spend on skins of your choice. A bought skin is recorded on your account and stays yours on any device signed in to that account, with or without a subscription. Some skins can instead be earned by reaching a milestone in the game; earned skins are also yours to keep. Skins are cosmetic and give no gameplay advantage.
• Billing. Subscriptions are sold through the Apple App Store or Google Play, and charged to that store account when you confirm the purchase. Prices are shown in the app before you buy.
• Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period and price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You manage and cancel them in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings, not in the app. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
• Founder pricing. The founder yearly plan keeps its price for as long as the subscription stays continuously active. If it lapses, the standard price applies to any new subscription.
• Price changes. If a price changes, the store will notify you and ask for your agreement where the law requires it.
• Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies. We cannot issue store refunds ourselves.
• Restore. Use “Restore purchases” in Settings to bring an active subscription to a new device signed in with the same store account. Bought skins follow your Hangman Challenge account, so signing in brings them back.

6. Our content

The app, website, artwork, theme packs, animations, word pools, word cards and the Hangman Challenge name and logo belong to us or our licensors. We give you a personal, non-transferable licence to use them to play the game. Do not copy, resell, scrape or redistribute them. Word cards are generated automatically and are for entertainment; they may contain errors.

7. Ending the Service or your access

We may suspend or close accounts that break these Terms, and we may change, pause or end the Service or any feature. If we end a paid feature early, unused subscription time is refunded through the store. You may stop using the Service at any time.

8. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows we disclaim all warranties, including that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or that words, hints and cards are accurate or appropriate. Other players write much of the content; we do not endorse it.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, NSI Hub LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data or profits, arising from the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or US$20 if you paid nothing. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

10. App store terms

If you downloaded the app from the Apple App Store, Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies, and Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms with the right to enforce them. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app and is not responsible for any claims about it. If you downloaded it from Google Play, Google’s terms also apply. Where these Terms conflict with a store’s required terms, the store’s terms win for that store.

11. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before going to court, please email us; most problems are fixed in a day. Nothing here limits consumer rights you have under the law of the country where you live.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. We will change the date at the top and, for material changes, tell you in the app. Continuing to play after a change means you accept it.
